"Work experience is part of our students' lifelong education"
Work experience is an integral part of the Senior Schooling curriculum at Ipswich State High School. Structured Workplace Learning is a module of the Certificate I in Work Education in which all Yr 11 students are enrolled.
We believe that work experience makes students more employable as they have developed skills and networks whilst in the workplace. Work experience often leads to offers of part- time work or traineeships and apprenticeships.
Students are able to try out different types of work which can help them decide subjects they need to study and they can also put skills learned at school into practice out in the workforce.
We thank the many employers who have kindly accepted our students into their workplace in order to give firsthand experience of "the world of work". This program would not be able to operate without our local employers.
